In response, Seattle Councilmember Kshama Sawant proposed to extend the moratorium through the end of the <a href=\"https:\/\/durkan.seattle.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2020\/03\/COVID-19-Mayoral-Proclamation-of-Civil-Emergency.pdf\">COVID-19 civil emergency<\/a>, which City Council rejected on February 23, 2022.
